Smithsonian Free Museum Day 2024 Date. Smithsonian magazine’s national museum day event has been paused for 2023, but in the spirit of that community event, cracker country will offer free admission for all visitors. Reminder that saturday, sept 17 is free admission at more than 1,400 participating museums, zoos, botanical gardens and other cultural institutions nationwide.

The museum’s beloved holiday tradition, jingle rails, remains open through the museum’s first free admission day on martin luther king jr. Travelers will be able to access scores of free museums across the country in september thanks to smithsonian magazine’s annual museum day.
